Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the calendar for Bank Holidays in May 2024, including festivals and weekends in different states. According to the official website, banks will be closed for approximately 14 days in May 2024. During this time, any banking-related work cannot be done by visiting the bank.

5th May 2024: Banks will be closed across the country due to Sunday.

11th May 2024: Banks will be closed nationwide due to the second Saturday of the month.

12th May 2024: Banks will be closed nationwide due to Sunday.

19th May 2024: Banks will be closed across the country due to Sunday.

25th May 2024: Banks will be closed nationwide due to the fourth Saturday of the month.

26th May 2024: Banks will be closed nationwide due to Sunday.

Excluding these Sundays and Saturdays, in May, due to festivals like Akshaya Tritiya and Buddha Purnima, as well as the Lok Sabha elections, banks will remain closed. Let’s find out more about it.

When will be the Bank Holidays in May:

1st May 2024: May Day and Labour Day are observed across India, and banks remain closed in many states besides Maharashtra.

7th May 2024: Due to Lok Sabha elections, banks will be closed in Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Raipur, and Panaji.

8th May 2024: Banks will be closed for the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore’s birthday.

10th May 2024: Banks will be closed in various states and Bengaluru due to Savitri Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya.

13th May 2024: Due to Lok Sabha elections, banks will be closed in Srinagar and various other states.

16th May 2024: All banks will be closed due to Statehood Day.

20th May 2024: Banks will be closed in Belapur and Mumbai due to Lok Sabha elections.

23rd May 2024: Banks will be closed in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Bhopal, Kanpur, Dehradun, Raipur, Ranchi, Aizawl, Itanagar, Nagpur, and Belapur due to Buddha Purnima.”
